Iowa – Jenora “Jenny” (Brasseaux) Cormier, born in Church Point on February 6, 1934 to the late Hubertie Jack and Olampe (Doucet) Brasseaux, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021, surrounded by her family after lengthy illness, at the age of 87. Jenny is survived by her loving and caring husband of 67 years, Nathan J. Cormier; daughters, Pamela Cormier of Baton Rouge and Jennifer Darce (Brett) of Iowa; siblings, Dot Ardoin of Lacassine; Benita Husers of Welsh; Hubert Brasseaux of Welsh; Jimmy Brasseaux (Jenny) of Birmingham, Al; grandchildren, Devin Palomino (Brittney); Kelsye Fruge (Joey Keppel); DeLayne Palomino; Camille Darce and Mikaela Darce; great-grandchildren, Rexie Palomino and Jovie Coleman. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Sandra Pousson and Berna Pujol. Jenny loved spending time at her camp at Rutherford Beach until it was destroyed by Hurricane Rita. She loved her Saturday garage sales, attending events at the Iowa Council on Aging, playing Booray and cooking for her family. Funeral services will be in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 1 p.m. with Deacon Anthony Pousson officiating. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation will begin in the funeral home at 9 a.m., with a Rosary recited at 12 p.m. The family would like to thank her Heart of Hospice nurse, Missy Hataway, for the excellent care given to their mom. ***Please note that the gathering capacity will be limited, as per state compliance and face coverings will be required. Also, no food will be allowed per the family***
