Lake Charles ~ Regena “Jeanie” Nichols, born in Folkston, GA on July 11, 1945, daughter of the late Oscar Spradley and Trudie Mae (Lloyd) Kendrick, passed away in her son’s residence after a brief battle with bone cancer on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at the age of 75. Jeanie lived in the Lake Charles/Moss Bluff area for many years with her late husband, Wallace Nichols. She enjoyed gardening and butterflies. She is preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Charlie Kendrick; spouse, Wallace Nichols; sister, Loretta Christine Selby and grandson, Jared Richard. Jeanie is survived by her son, Kenny (Carrie) Nichols; daughters, Christine (Tim) Richard); Renee (Robert) Monceaux; grandchildren, Tara (Shelby) Leeds; Jessica (Taylor) Powers; Ethan Richard; Gracie and Doran Monceaux; great-grandchildren, Howard & Noelle Leeds. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at 1 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Rev. John Nichols, Officiant. Burial will follow in Ritchie Cemetery. Visitation begins on Monday in the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will resume Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude or the Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home. The family would like to thank Christus Hospice and Nurse Marena; her life-long friend, Sena Theall and Carol Cormier for taking excellent care of their mom.
